Family demographics and needs have shifted over time. Nearly half of the workforce is comprised of women. And 40 percent of working moms are either the primary or sole earner in their families. In 62 percent of families with children, all adults are working. Yet our workplaces have not kept pace with that changing reality, and too many families are struggling to balance their obligations at home and on the job.
